Barcelona, Barcelona, Barcelona. What can I say? You have my heart, period. I’m surprised that I don’t live there now, that is how much I absolutely loved it there. My friend Emilia and I got to taste amazing food, see the Sagrada Familia, see stunning sunset views, and, my favorite thing of all, we got to ride a scooter around the city. So read through, and I hope you find everything you need.
Everything is sectioned by day with links and easy access to book everything right below!
Day 1: Strutting and Riding Through The City
We arrived in Barcelona at 10 am and were able to drop off our luggage at our amazing Airbnb while we waited for them to finish our room up. It was an amazing place to stay at. The terrace has a perfect view of the Sagrada Familia, and it had two twin beds with two Spanish balconies overlooking the city. We were staying on the 5th floor (with no elevator), but it was worth it!
We then went to eat at this cute little breakfast place right in front of our Airbnb, and it was delicious. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the restaurant. However, there are so many tasty breakfast spots around the city that satisfied my longing for an American Breakfast.
Now, as we are walking towards the Sagrada Familia, a scooter rental shop is sitting nice and pretty at the corner, calling my friends and my names. So what do we do? We walk in, of course, and get ourselves a scooter! They did not ask for an International Driver’s license, only our regular license. I do think we got lucky with that, so just in case, before your travels, get an International Driver’s License at your local AAA branch! This scooter was a lifesaver, and I am so glad we found it! Or should I say, found us.
So, this is where it gets interesting. Let me break it down for you.
First, we went to Park Güel, where The Cheetah Girls movie most ICONIC dance break takes place. * inserts gif below because why not *
*YOU GOTTA STRUT LIKE YOU MEAN IT*
Anyways, Park Güel was amazing. I literally almost cried like five times just standing where they stood. Park Güel has so much more to offer so make sure to walk all throughout the park.
As for the parking for the scooter, it was free and right outside the park. Make sure to add this to your itinerary! You can buy your tickets here.
Also, I am pretty sure America’s Next Top Model had one of their finales here at this park; just saying!!We rode around the city a bit more, just enjoying the views. We stopped in the city center because I had to run to Primark. We walked around a bit and saw the plaza where you can feed pigeons, and we got to see the beautiful architecture of Barcelona. We soon went home because we were hungry, so we headed back to our apartment, stopped at a small supermarket, and to ate in for lunch!
After that, we were riding around and saw the Tibidabo from a distance, so we of course, on the scooter, made our way to it up this very hilly, curvy, and somewhat steep street to get there, and wow, how beautiful. Tibidabo is a hill that overlooks Barcelona. It is the tallest hill in the Serra de Collserola! They had an amusement park at the top with, of course, an amazing view. We ended our day eating in for dinner.
Day 2: Discovering the Food and Artists of Barça
Waking up, we were ready to hop on our scooter and eat! So, we started off by going by the famous St Josep La Boqueria, the Food Market of Barcelona. How beautiful, colorful, and tasty this place was. It was, of course, free entry, and the prices of the little tapas were reasonably priced. As a foodie, I was definitely enjoying myself. My favorite spot, however, was all the way in the back, and they were serving the most fried burritos, empanadas, and so much more. We stayed for about an hour or so. How? Well, we ate, sat down, ate, sat down, ate sat down. Then, we walked down the Rambla at an attempt to burn off some of the calories he ate. Don’t regret a thing.
After walking down the Rambla and hopping back on our scooter, it was now time to see some of the amazing architecture and artwork of the city. We first wanted to see the artwork by Catalan architects Josep Puig i Cadafalch and Antonio Gaudi. Their buildings make up two of the most important buildings in Barcelona. It was so unique and jaw-dropping to see in person!
We then walked drove around to see the Kiss of Freedom, done by Joan Fontcuberta where 63 candid photos and videos makes up this kiss of love. Absolutly stunning.
We then thought, why not go and explore Cataloña a bit more? So what did we do? We dropped off the scooter, went to the train station, and went to a little beach town in Sitges, Spain. It was completely random after a Spanish local recommended it to us, so, of course, we bought that 6-euro ticket and went!
We later made it back to the city of Barcelona at around 10 pm and just stayed in for the rest of the night.
Day 3: The Cheetah Girl Moment Comes to an End
Now, day 3 was a vibe. We woke up, ate breakfast, checked out, checked our luggage with the Airbnb host and started our adventure.
The first stop of the day was the famous Arc de Triomf (Barcelona version). It was right by the water, so we could also walk down a promenade. We then walked down the park that connected the Arc de Trimof and got to see some bubbles and enjoy the calm vibes. What happens next…I was back to being Galleria.
We made our way to the Palau Nacional. If you don’t know what that is, let me remind you.
It was an amazing experience. They had escalators that took you up and down the Palu Nacional, which was so helpful.
This was out last stop before returning to the Airbnb to pick up our luggage, return our scooter, and head to the airport.
Conclusion:
Our nonstop Cheetalicious getaway to Barcelona was a dream coming true at its finest. Whether you're seeking adventure, a Cheetah Girl Barcelona Guide, or moments at the beach, Barcelona has it all. Enjoy your stay in Barcelona!
